What is a Trunk Show?

A Trunk Show is a special in-store event, lasting 1-3 days where you can view and buy the Rue De Seine latest collection dresses (often months before it hits the store). Our designers are usually at the store during a trunk show. If you find the dress of your dreams at a Trunk Show, be prepared to make a decision that day, as the gown will not always be in store once the trunk show is over.

You can come into the store anytime during opening hours which are Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm and Saturday 9am – 5pm. If you would like to try on our gowns you will need to book a fitting.

You can either book this directly with a stylist in store, call us on +64 09 529 9367 or email us at appointments@ruedeseine.com

What does a fitting involve and how much does it cost?

Fittings cost $75 and last approximately one and a half hours. During that time you will be one on one with a Rue de Seine stylist who will help you find your perfect silhouette.

We have seating room for up to 4 of your guests so please bring along family and/or friends to help you with the big decision. Please note that we do not allow any photos during fittings so please try to arrange for anyone that needs to see the dress before the big day to be present.

If you already have the shoes and/or undergarments that you intend to wear on the big day then please bring them.

How should I store my Rue De Seine gown?

Proper storage of wedding gowns is very important to ensure that the original appearance of the gown is preserved and that damage is prevented. It is important to select a storage area that is cool, dark, dry and free from heat, moisture and insects.

Rue De Seine will supply all local brides with a breathable garment bag. Please ensure you keep your gown in this bag before and after the wedding for preservation. We suggest having your gown dry-cleaned prior to storage as watermarks and perspiration can yellow over time. We will be more than happy to point you in the right direction of our recommended dry cleaners.
