how did you meet your fiancé?

We had been close friends during high school, however we didn’t start dating until the end of the year after finishing high school. The first two years of our relationship were interstate long distance from South Australia to Queensland while Gavin pursued his professional Australian football career. After a strong 2 year long distance relationship we knew we would be husband and wife one day. The date we chose for our wedding the 12/12/14 marked our 8 year anniversary as a couple.

You wore the RDS libby gown, was that the style that you had in mind before you started looking?

how did you pick…..

There was one thing for certain before I started looking for my wedding dress, I didn’t want an off the rack strapless, corset backed dress from a large bridal store.

I had come across Rue De Seine’s previous collection online during my hours of wedding planning and loved RDS. The trunk show was spectacular and I was fortunate enough to have met the very lovely Michele and Greer from the Rue De Seine team to help and witness me find my wedding dress from the breathtaking collection. I tried on numerous dresses from the collection and could have easily worn any of them however, the ‘Libby Gown’ gave me goosebumps and I knew even before looking in the mirror that it was “The Dress”. To top this day off, the trunk show ended with champagne with my bridesmaids and mother, it was the most perfect atmosphere for finding my dress dress. The Libby gown fulfilled everything I was looking for; classic yet unique, delicate lace detail, capped sleeves, button detailed back and comfortable!

your wedding party attire?

The gorgeous bridesmaids dresses were custom made by a local Brisbane designer ‘Fabled & True’. FABLED AND TRUE is a sweet little eco label born of a love of vintage and days gone by. Each piece is designed and made in Brisbane, Australia using recycled, reclaimed, re-purposed or vintage fabrics. I let my bridesmaids choose whatever vintage fabric they loved from their collection and they all had the same vintage lace overlay. Fabled and true also made the groomsmen’s ties and my husband Gavin’s Pockets square. Gav’s suit was by ‘Calibre’ an Australian menswear label.

your gorgeous wedding location?

Summergrove Estate was the perfect venue for our wedding, a large hinterland pristine property of 73 acres with oceans views ideal for a outdoor wedding, under a open air marquee of festoon and fairy lights and amazing food!

 your theme?

We are both very relaxed and easy going people and we wanted to create a wedding that reflected our personalities, relationship and style. Our wedding theme had a hint of vintage but was splashed with our own unique style. There was one thing certain that we both wanted for our wedding and that was to have one big relaxed outdoor party to celebrate our marriage with all our nearest and dearest. The vibe of our wedding day ended up being magical, relaxed, one big party with loads of dancing!

who was your photographer?

Our photographers were the talented husband and wife duo from ‘Lucas & Co Photography’ Sair and Jase were amazing, we were so comfortable with them and left as friends. They even rocked our dance-floor with us on the night. They perfectly captured our day in every way. We also had ‘Roost Film Co’ capture our day on film.

looking back, what was the most memorable part of your wedding day?

Reading our surprise personalised vows to each other witnessed by our nearest and dearest. Then having guests telling us how they were moved/touched by our ceremony, there were so many tears! Luckily we had hankies as our favours for the ceremony. As we wanted one big party we created our own epic dance floor playlist, it was a hit and we all danced the night away!

Another highlight was the surprise fireworks that Ashleigh’s parents kindly put on after our first dance and our sparkler exit was a magical moment. The entire day was perfect, it was just so special to have all our nearest and dearest there to celebrate with.

Rue de Seine in St. Germain Des Pres is one of the most sought after streets in Paris and the vision behind our collection’s effortlessly romantic style.

It was this very neighborhood which inspired Rue De Seine’s designer to create the label after living, working, and celebrating her own wedding on this beautiful Parisian street. The neighborhood is infamous for being the meeting place for artists and celebrities and is the inspiration to RUE DE SEINE’s bohemian style.
